Can I return an item to Best Buy if damaged?
Items need to be returned in a like-new condition. Items that are damaged, unsanitary, dented, scratched or missing major contents may be denied a return. Apparel must not be worn or laundered, and its original tags must be attached for us to accept a return.

If you notice a post-purchase price drop at Best Buy on a qualifying product within its returns and exchanges period, you can request a price match online, in the store, or over the phone. The retailer typically offers a 15-day return window.
Simply go to BestBuy.com/TradeIn, see if your item is eligible for trade-in, and then get an estimate for what your item may be worth. We'll cover the costs for you to ship it to us and then, if we accept your item for trade-in, we'll send you an electronic Best Buy Gift Card for the value of your item.
What is accidental damage (also referred to as Customer Induced Damage) Accidental Damage is any damage due to an unintentional act that is not the direct result of a manufacturing defect or failure. Accidental damage is not covered under the standard warranty of the product.

Liquid spills, cracks and scratches to the screen, bezel and accessories. If your notebook has physical damage we will be happy to repair or fix it but the repair will be handled as out of warranty repair and you will be charged for parts and labour.

What does Best Buy do with opened returns?
Best Buy allows open-box returns as long as the item being returned is in like-new condition. They allow you to return refurbished and pre-owned items, too, if they're in like-new condition. But if it's damaged, unsanitary, dented, scratched, or missing major contents, you'll probably be denied the return.
If you want to return or exchange your purchase, please know that you can return or exchange almost everything within 15 days for a full refund. Simply bring your item(s) to us with all contents and packaging and your proof of purchase, and we will process your return or exchange.

If you have a broken major appliance or TV, call 1-866-325-6423 between 8 a.m.–9 p.m. CT to schedule an appointment. On your appointment day, a Geek Squad Agent or Authorized Servicer will arrive, diagnose the problem with your major appliance or TV, and offer a quote for repair.
TV manufacturer warranties do NOT cover accidental damage. Accidental damage is exactly what it sounds like: protection from accidents.
In general, cracked, or broken glass is considered accidental damage and is not covered under the standard warranty.
