How do you use Shark hard floor cleanser?

The spray bottle clips onto the Spray Pocket Mop and comes filled with Shark® Waterfall Fresh Hard Floor Cleanser. Spray the cleanser onto stains in either a mist or a targeted stream. (Twist the nozzle to choose either a mist or a targeted stream spray.)

This versatile, concentrated formula tackles messes on a variety of surfaces such as sealed hardwood floors, tile, laminate, and area rugs*. The specialized cleaning formula is tough on messes, but safe for kids and pets**.

Make sure you only add water to the tank. Chemicals or cleaning solution may damage the appliance and could be unsafe for you and your family. IMPORTANT: Your Steam Mop needs water to make steam! Never use your steam mop without water in the tank.

Some steam mop manufacturers, such as Shark and Bissell, may say you can use it on a sealed hardwood floor, but Stocki recommends against it because moisture could still possibly force itself into the joints between the boards and get into the wood and warp it.

The manual states that no chemicals should be used with the steam mop and distilled or demineralized water is recommended.

You can use a commercial wood-cleaning product, like Bona or Murphy Oil Soap. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions. You can also make your own cleaner by mixing one part vinegar to 10 parts warm water. Add a few drops of liquid Castile soap.

The main different between the two is that they don't both clean every surface in your house. However, one might clean more surfaces than the other will. The All-Purpose Cleaner can actually be used to mop floors, clean counter-tops, stoves, refrigerators, and even coffee tables and end-tables.

When used with a cleaning solution, especially an antibacterial one, hard floor cleaners will do a much better job of banishing any nasty bacteria that might be lurking. Most have dual water tanks, which means that only clean water will be pulled through the rollers and onto your floor.

For deep cleaning and disinfecting wood floors, you should give the surface a more thorough clean every 1-2 weeks. To disinfect your floor, use Lysol® Clean & Fresh Multi-Surface Cleaner at full-strength (or dilute 1 oz to 5 oz of warm water in a bucket) and be sure to pre-clean the surface.
